
After independence, Dr. Nabagopal singha, a well-known personality of the locality resided at Baidyanathpur village first felt the need of education for the people of the locality for the development of the locality.Being an enthusiastic person in the field of education, he took an initiative to establish a school and with the help of some other enthusiastic persons,he set up the school in 1964. Though the school started in two rent-free rooms of a person at Natundihi in 1963, the school got recognition by the education departmet as two class school (class V & VI) vide memo No.14340/g, dated 01.07.1965. Then the number of students in the school was more than 50.Two class rooms were erected in present school premises by asking for donation from the eager people of the locality.In 1966 the school was recognized as four- class school (class V to VIII) vide memo No.19456/g dated 09.08.1967. In the meantime a plot of land was purchased at a nomilal price for the school from a family of Chhaglakuri village.A number of trees were planted along the boundary lines of the school and a beautiful garden was made. The surroundings of the school look very beautiful in the lap of nature like Kabiguru's Santiniketan. In 1970 when the school was recognized as a high school, the number of class rooms increased gradually with the donations of local people.Shyamapada Rooj, the first head master of the school took the charge from Gopal Chandra Ghosh,the T.I.C of the school on 01.09.1973.Later the school was upgraded as an H.S school in 2013. In the meantime funds were arranged from M.P Lad, B.E.U.P,S.S.M etc.Now the school has 18 class rooms, H.M Office room, room for the teaching and non-teaching staff, Laboratory room of Geography and Science, Library room, Computer room and a Smart class room.The school building is now well-connected with running water and electricity.More than 800 students read in this school at present.
