Panchra Basanta Kumari High School For Girls is situated in Khoyrasole Block in Birbhum District. It is beside the river Hinglow in the village Panchra P.O Panchrahat. The school was established on the land donated by the members of a reputed jamindar family in 1958. They felt the need of the education for the girls. The school was started with only 9 girls of Panchra village. The name of the school was Panchra Basanta Kumari Senior Basis school for girls and the students were taught from class VI to Class VIII. In 1989 class V was included and the name of the school was changed into Panchra Basanta Kumari Junior High School for Girls. In 2004 the school had been upgraded to Madhyamik or secondary school. Now the name of the school is Panchra Basanta Kumari High School for Girls. Now it is a government sponsored high school. Girls of this village and neighbouring vilage read here from class V to class X. At present the number of student in this school is 555. Every year the result of madhyamik examination of our school is quiet satisfactory. Not only in education, but also in sports and games, cultural programme and other competitions, the students of our school have proved their efficiency. On many cases they had also achived succes in the district level.
