It was established way back in 1908 as a Minor School at the village near Tarapith by some persons interested in education with the assistance of local land lord Pal family. The school was upgraded as a Senior Basic School in 1962 and it was shifted to another place surrounded by three ponds on three sides of the school. The total area of the School is 125 decimals. Later It was upgraded first as a Junior High School and immediately as a recognized High School under WBBSE in 1969. Now it has been upgraded as a 10 +2 School w.e.f.01/07/1999. With the help of different kind of Govt. grants and some donations from former students to some extend the School at present looks like a beautiful asset to the society. It consists of 31 rooms including a small Library, a Computer room , two AV Class rooms and four Laboratories. It celebrated it’s Centenary in 2008 and there a strong resolution was drawn to build a big Hall as a memorandum of the Centenary.
