History

    The school established on 2nd January, 1971 has come to its present form and status following an interesting course of evolution : From Shree Shree Jogadyamata Nimna Madhyamik Vidyalaya to Jogadya Mata Junior High School to Shree Shree Jogadyamata Vidyapith(Ninma Madhyamik) to its present name, SANTOSHPUR JOGADYAMATA VIDYAPITH(HS). The school has been named after the goddess Jogadyamata whose temple stands west to the school. Under the able leadership of Late Dr. JAFAR ALI, late Md. FAZLUL HAQUE, Late Md. GOLAM PANJATAN and late BRINDABAN CHANDRA SARKAR and unstinting co-operation and contribution of the locals residing in Santoshpur, Joghar, Hatpara, Hansan and the neighbouring villages. On 14-11-1970 a formal meeting was convened at 2:30 PM near the premises of Jogadyamata temple with Shri Kumudbandhu Sar, S.I. of School, Rampurhat(East Circle), being in chair with 24 signatories in its first Resolution to establish Shree Shree Jogadyamata Nimna Madhyamik Vidyalaya. Then again in its second Resolution of the meeting held on 30-12-1970 at Joghar Primary School  with Shree Bridaban Chandra Sarkar, P.I.E. and Vice President, being in chair and 11 other signatories, all the appointment and adminstrative formalities were adopted unanimously with a pledge to start classes of Jogadyamata Jr. High School[sic] on and from 2nd January 1971. Then again in the third but first meeting of Shree Shree Jogadyamata Vidyapith(Nimna Madhyamik) held on 24-01-1971 at 2:30 PM with Shri Kumudbandhu Sar in chair and 15 other member- signatories along with the Secretary Md. Fazlul Haque of the newly constitued school executive committee the appointment formalities were settled unanimously with Md Nurul Hoda as H.M., Abdul Aziz, Md Khairul Anam, Md Ruhul Amin and Shree Rajendra Kumar Marjit as Assistant Teachers. The fledgling Jr. school, Santoshpur Jogadyamata Vidyapith(Jr. High School) started its journey with 142 students on roll formally on 02-01-1971 to get its recognition as a secondary school,Santoshpur Jogadyamata Vidyapith( High) w.e.f 01-01-1986 and to be upgraded as a higher secondary school,Santoshpur Jogadyamata Vidyapith(HS) during 2000-2001 session. 12 students appeared as the first batch in the Madhyamik and 17 students, as the first batch in the H.S. exam.
