“Man May Come, Man May Go But I go on for ever.” This immortal line of Lord Tinnyson reminds the glorious journey of Chandpara High School, Birbhum. Many years ago in 1890 when a large area was steeped in the darkness of ignorance, some lovers of education set up chandpara LE School at Chandpara a remote village on the border of the Murshidabad and Birbhum. Thus lit the lone lamp started removing the darkness of illiteracy of large area with its flickering flame. The long journey is blended with iron determination and devoted dedication. In 1950 it was recognized as High School and in 1966 it was upgraded to an old H.S(XI-Class)School. In early Seventies (70’s) Like many other Schools it was Converted into a X- Class High School as per Govt. Policy. But again under the able leadership of Dibyendu Chatterjee the then Head Master of the School, it regained its former status of an H.S(+2) School in 1979 and reached the acme of its glory. It gave birth to a galaxy of golden sons who proved their worth in different fields of life in India and abroad. The Institution now again on the road of expected development with excellence under the proper guidance of present Head Master - Goutam Roy. The Journey is not yet over “It has miles to go” Pray for its prosperous future.
