In British India this locality was emerged in deep dark in respect of education. For spreading the light of education Lohapur H.E.  High school was established in 1940 by some education loving persons. Sri Khudiram Prasad Bhakat, bounteous person of this locality, donated the land for school in memory of his father Late Mahabir Ram Bhakat . After that this school got recognition from Calcutta University in 1942 by present name Lohapur Mahabir Ram Memorial High School.The school building was constructed by the supervision of Late Baishnabdas  Dutta, an eminent Social worker and some other education loving people of this locality.

The first Headmaster was Late Tapesh Chandra Dubey (1940-1952).The students were coming here for learning not only from local area but also from adjacent area of Murshidabad district .There were two separate hostel for Hindu and Muslim students to the south west corner of school premises up to 1970-72.In 1976 for the first time boundary wall was constructed to the south side .The school Football team won interschool Football championship for few years under the guidance of former teacher  Late Kaligoti Ghosh and the school set up scout and guide department. Our school always maintained teaching learning slandered in high level.

Present boundary wall was constructed with the financial assistance of Birbhum Zilla Parisad and MPLAD allocated by our M.P. Smt. Satabdi Roy in 2011 .Later on i.e in 2017 height of this boundary wall increased for safety and security of the students. The stupendous main gate (Senapot Toron) of the school was donated by Banyeshwar Bhakat and others  who are offspring of Senapot Ram Bhakat. Late Senapot Ram Bhakat constructed three rooms  (two stored) in the new building spending his  own fund. Our student Rajib Mal performed well in state level Run race in 2013-14.

There is a beautiful flower garden ,Computer Lab ,MDM Hall with marble flooring table, adequate fan ,light  and Cycle stand .The school also have 28 CC Cameras with audio in classrooms, corridor,office staffroom, school premises and Biometry attendance is introduced in 2015 onwards .Our school transformed into fully computerized in 2015 and awarded ‘Nirmal Vidyalaya’ in 2017. The school also has purified and cold drinking water supplying Machine (Aquaguard) for the students donated by retired judge Sri Radhashyam Dutta in 2015 in memory of Smt. Jamuna Dutta.
