In the sixties in Dabuk village,in the district of Birbhum, had more than 5000 population. There was only one Primary School to educate the children of Dabuk. Majurhati , the nearest village of Dabuk, also had a Primay School for children’s education. Nearest Junior High Schools ( Birchandrapur Nityananda Junior High School, Talowa Junior High School, Dakshingram Jagattarini Junior High School) was 3-4 kms away and the road condition was very bad, especially in the rainy days road conditions used to become worst. So students had to face a lot of troubles to go Schools. Nearest High School, Mallarpur High School, was 11 km away. These reasons were forcing major number of students of Dabuk and Majurhati to stop education after Primary, especially girl children of both the villages.
In this circumstances Shashodhar Mondal, a respectable resident of Dabuk, proposed to both the villagers of Dabuk and Majurhati to get organised and set up a Junior High School for brighter future of next generations. Volanath Mondal , Abdul Khalek, Khalek Mia, Kanailal Mondal, Nitya Gopal Mondal, Guljar Haji, Krishna Kinkar Mondal, Golam Ambia, Kashem Sekh, Ananda Gopal Das, Gadadhar Bandopadhyay, Aviram Mondal, Khudiram Mondal, Gadadhar Mondal, Saifuddin Sekh and many more responded. Necessity of girl education was in the mind of guardians so they took the decision to set up a co-educational institute. A organiser committee was set up and Shashodhar Mondal was chosen as secretary. Shashodhar Mondal donated his own land and invited villagers to donate land and contribute money. Kanailal Mondal, Nitya Gopal Mondal, Guljar Haji, Krishna Kinkar Mondal, Kashem Sekh, Volanath Mondal, Narayan Chandra Mondal, Panchanan Mondal donated their lands to construct School building and play ground. Mean while two class Dabuk Junior High School started working at the Primary School building in January, 1965 with 25-30 students in the guardianship of two teachers namely Gadadhar Mondal as Head Master and Saifuddin Sekh as Assistant Teacher. With the efforts of the organiser committee a fund of Rs.5400/- was raised which was not adequate. Villagers laid bricks to build a two small room with tally roof. Later two more rooms were constructed. Gadadhar Mondal and Saifuddin Sekh and others took enormous efforts to get Govt approvals, as a result of that the school was approved by the W.B.B.S.E as a two class co-ed Junior High Schools ( i.e class V & VI) with effect from 01.01.1967 and as a four class(i.e class V, VI, VII & VIII) co-ed Junior High school with effect from 01.01.1968. The School was upgraded to as six class High School with effect from 01.01.2005 by the W.B.B.S.E.
