History

Kusumi High School is spreading the light of education among the poor and backward communities in a remote corner of Birbhum District. The school was originally started in the year 1970. Some local educated and enthusiastic people started the school to provide education in the area. The school got recognition in the year 1971 and since then it plays a very vital role in the matter of spreading education and development of the area. Number of enrolled students in the current academic session is 363. The school follows the guidelines as set by Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. It is a bengali medium co-ed school. As it is a socially and economically back log area, the students of are mainly dependant on the school. The teachers are very co-operative, energetic and student friendly. Besides it academic activities the school provides mid-day meal, free text book and free uniform. The school also has started computer education to give basic concept of computer knowledge. The school is developing day to day and we hope it will fulfill the basic need of education in the years to come.
