History

After India's independence with partition, a number of Bengali families crossed Indo-Bangladesh border and took shelter as refugees on the sandy bank of a low watery land and established a small village named Taraknagar amidst the beauty of nature. They had to struggle a lot against poverty and uncertainty of life. But they had profound love for education, they understood the importance of education for the all round development of their children. They understood the basic need of education with the fundamental necessities of life. As a result of their united efforts, Taraknagar Jamuna Sundari High (H. S.) School began its journey on 1st April, 1953. Gradually the school turns into a full-grown tree from a sapling, and after completion of Golden Jubilee Year, it is successfully serving for the enlightenment of a large number of pupils of its surrounding villages.
