Before 1967 there was no school in Gobindapur. The citizens of the village bore a thought in mind that they should have a Primary School in their village. Then many wel-wishers like Mr. Murari Mohan Biswas, Mr. Anil Biswas, Mr. Haradhan Das, Mr. Subal Chandra Ghosh and many other gentle men came forward with monitary help and established " Gobindapur Primary School " On 2nd January 1967. Mr. Nitai Chandra Pal, Mr. Bidyendu Biswas and Mr. Sanat Pal were the first " Organize Teachers ". They conducted classes on Mr. Murari Mohan Biswas's " Varanda ". Gradually the numbers of students increased. On 1970 Mr. Nishit Sarkar, Mrs. Bharati Biswas, and Mrs. Jharna Dutta joined the school. They searched others places where they could accommodate all the students. They conducted classes under " Cow Shed " of Mr. Subal Chandra Ghosh, under " Banian Tree " and sometimes at " Kalitala ". It was very difficult job. Then the teachers and many other wel-wishers spent their money to purchase tiles, bamboos etc. The poor gentle man Mr. Subal Chandra Ghosh donated a piece of land. A school with tile-shed was built.
On April 1972 the school got goverment approval. Next year i.e. On April 1973 it was sanctioned by the goverment and the school had a new name " GOBINDAPUR G.S.F.P. SCHOOL " .
