History

In 1959 some people of Durgapur Village proposed to open an school for primary education of the children of this village. In this purpose they purchesed a land and stablished the school that time. In 1961 the school was affilated by West Bengal Board of Primary Education. The date of Affilation was 01.09.1961. Kalipada Sarkar, Monohar Sarkar, Haripada Sarkar, Radhakrishna Mondal, Balahari Sarkar, Harivakta Sarkar and some others villagers were forefront of the stablishment of Durgapur Primary School. Mr. Surendra Nath Podder was the 1st Head Teacher of this school. Then Dilip Samajder was acting Head Teacher and Gobinda Chandra Mondal was also the Head Teacher of this school upto 2011. Now Tusharkanti Mondal is the Acting Head Teacher (TIC) of this school.
