Let us go back to the fourth decade of twentieth century. Madanpur village of that period was not at all similar to that of today. Everywhere in this area there were bushes. Population was too low. There were no amenities including electricity. To speak of education, there was only a primary school (Battala) and very few educated persons. As the population began to grow by leaps and bounds, a part of the education-lover and enthusiastic people felt the necessity of propagating education amongst the children in this area. It was then a dream to them. They came forward to shape their dream into reality. Obviously, it was a tough journey..... It was a promising wintry dawn of January, the 6th in 1950, when the dream at last foundits form as an institution on the east of Madanpur Railway Station. Classes started at ground floor of the two-storyed building of Late Prafulla Banerjee. At the beginning number of students was nearly 150, ranging from class five to nine. The school continued for about six months at Late Prafulla Banerjee's residence and then it was shifted to its own hut at the playground of Adarsha Sangha, a local club. Adarsha Sangha, located at the central position of Madanpur donated its playground for the school. Thus, the name of the school become Madanpur Kendriya Adarsha Vidyalaya. Late Upendranath Roy of Chandirampur village become the first headmaster. Energetic local young men, like Bimal Kanti Gangopadhyay, Shyamacharan Mukhopadhyay, Anil Kumar Ganguli taught the pupils. Having been affiliated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, the school sent out its first batch for the School Final Examination in 1954. Afterwards it had been upgraded to HS level in 1978. The school found its first pucca room in 1955.
The school pays equal attention to co-curricular activities including science-education by first hand. To be a centre of excellent quality of education in keeping with the rich heritage of India, the school stresses on simultaneous development of body, mind and endeavours to create responsible and innovative global citizen who are committed and promising to keep the wheels of development of India moving. School is a temple of education for every student. Keeping it in mind, the teaching and non teaching staff, the members of the Managing Committee are pulling the school in the same direction to set up a healthy atmosphere in the school premises.
