Hingnara Primary School is a traditional school in Nadia District. The village of Hingnara was a thriving area during the British Rule. The local Gram Panchayet was named as "Hingnara Gram Panchayet" as the village of Hingnara was developed in all aspects out of eight to ten nearby villages. The Hingnara Primary School was established and registered with the Nadia District Primary School Council on January 1, 1941 but even before that the school was here and was supervised by the then zamindars. For that reason, Hingnara primary School is called the oldest school in that region. The school has seen Mother India bound by the serpent of subjugation. The school had the opportunity to hoist the tri-colour National Flag of Independent India on the auspicious eve of 15th August, 1947 and honoured the Mother Independent India.
Hingnara Primary School had no permanent home from the beginning and lessons were taught in different places or at home of the then zamindars. Later the school has constructed where the Kithen Store is fixed vertically with a corrugated tin-shed with a wall of an old hallway east-west.
The ground floor classrooms were constructed in 2003 with a grant from the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. After that in 2006, an incomplete classroom with staircase was built on the first floor of the school with the fund received from the Sarva Shiksha Mission.
Later after much deliberation, the construction work of the first floor classroom has completed in 2020 with the fund received from the Sarva Shiksha Mission as well as the previous unhygienic latrines-urinals have been demolished and three new latrines, four urinals, one separate attached toilet-cum-bathroom for the teachers have been constructed with the facility of running water attached to electric pump. In addition, the previous fragile kitchen store has demolished and a new extended Kitchen-cum-Dining hall with the all facilities has been constructed.
