History

In the year 1904,Santipur Durgamoni Sree Pathsala Girls’ High School started its journey as a small primary school. New building inaugurated by the then District Magistrate of Nadia became functional in 1916. In 1933,Smt. Durgamoni Devi herself handed over the school to a newly formed Managing Committee by a gift deed. In 1967,5th and 6th classes were introduced.In 1982,with the addition of 7th and 8th classes the school was upgraded as Upper Primary.In 2003, on 1st May, the school, while preparing for celebration of its 100th birth anniversary , obtained Govt. permission to run Secondary classes also .The then Hon’ble MIC, Dept. of Education, GOWB laid the foundation stone of proposed Centenary Building on 27th July as a token of celebration of one hundred years of eventful past.
