History

Birnagar is a traditional town within a Nadia District.Birnagar Shivakali Girls High School is situated in the heart ot the town.Actually the school was established in the year 1950.Some learnet person being interested in the Women education and by their perseverence efforts the School was started from 1st January 1950.Initially the class was held in the morning shift at Birnagar High School.Later the school was separated from Birnagar High School.Finally School building was constructed in the agricultural land of Birnagar High School,with financial assist from Late Gunendranath Mukhopadhya.The school was named after the name of Late Gunendranath Mukhopadhya's mother Shivakali Devi,"BIRNAGAR SHIVAKALI GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL".Those who were also  the part of the journey,with whose efforts the school gradually reached the zenith -were,Late Sachindranath Bhattacharyya,the first Secretary of the School,Late Pankaj kr. Chattapadhyya,Late Biswanath Bhattacharyya,Late Nilkantha Mukhopadhya.

The school first recognised as 4 class jr. High School in 01.01.1956.Then the School recognised as 10 class High School in 01.04.1960.Later the school recognised as 12 class h.s. school in 20.06.2000.
