History

Chandmari  Deshapriya Sikshayatan (HS) established in 1955 in a refugee based locality at Ward No.15, Mouza  Kataganj,  on Plot No. 301, 303 &948,  with J.L No. -74 under Gayeshpur Municipality and Kalyani  Sub-division, district Nadia, West Bengal- 741250, with total land area 3 acre, 2 bighas, and 8 cottah,   is now a Government Sponsored Institute w.e.f. 2014. This school has been rated by 38 people on Icbse and has been viewed  45 times by the visitors on iCBSE. This school is counted among the top-rated schools in West Bengal with an excellent academic track record.

Initially, this school was made up of a bamboo-thatched roof without electricity supply. Perusing the necessity of imparting education to the poor children of the refugee based area at Kataganj some of the persons-interested –in education shifted it to the present location. More than 90% of the students belong to schedule caste and hailing from poverty-stricken families.

It started as 2 Class Junior School and subsequently as 4 Class Junior School in 1956. It got its as High School in 1958 under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and subsequently as Higher Secondary school with Co-education with Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

The school had come under Grant-in-Aid and Salary Deficit Scheme in 1972-1973.

This school imparts education on NCC, computer education, Vocational Trades, and Physical Education for the future career of the students.

Amidst  poverty  and  low socio-economic  condition of the locality, the children make a wonderful result both in Madhyamik Examination and in Higher Secondary Education and stand as the pride of the school
