History

Cooper’s Colony High School is a govt. sponsored Secondary School situated at ward no. 5, Cooper’s Camp Notified Area Authority ( CCNAA), P.O. Cooper’s Camp, P.S. Ranaghat,dist- Nadia, W.B.

At present, this Co-Educational school is the only High School in CCNAA. Its catchment area is pretty small and socio-economically vulnerable.

The inception of the school dates back to 1969. This was historically significant, at least for Cooper’s Camp, since there was no school at that time in Cooper’s Camp which had been meant for settling the Refugees from Bangladesh. The founding fathers of the school were Mr. Golok Mondal, Mr. Dashrath Biswas, Mr. Tripti Mohan Bain, Mr. Janardan Halder, Mr. Bimal Chandra Biswas  and Mr. Kalipada Bose who took pains to establish this institution out of meagre means and resources with an eye to spreading education among the refugee children.

Later on, the school was Recognized as a 4 Class Junior high School w.e.f. 01/01/1971 and was subsequently Upgraded to a X Class High school w.e.f. 01/01.1987.
