Chhotojagulia Jr. Basic School was established during 1942 by a sanction letter by B.N. Chowdhury,The Secretary ,District School Board, North 24 Parganas and first Head Teacher was Sri Binoy Bhusan Acharya.

         Chhotojagulia is a small but very old village. Its name itself can notes that it is a small but awakened

village. The proof of this was to be found in the existence of a dilapidated M.E. School building(Chhotojagulia M.E. School, Estd-1847) of 100 years standing. Later on this school renamed as  Chhotojagulia Jr. Basic School. Love for education and culture is therefore nothing new to the teachers and villagers nearby. Once more the inhabitants of this and neighboring villages assembled together to carry on the great tasks started a century back by their predecessors.
