History

Famous social reformer and organiser Kalikrishna Dutta and Shatkori Dutta established the school on 7th May 1848. Then the name of the school was Nebadhai Anglo Sanskrit School. In 1885 it was renamed as Nebadhai High English School. Then in 1953 it got its present name, Nebadhai High School. In 1956 its primary section, i.e.,Nebadhai Free Primary School got the government approval. From its inception many famous personalities were involved in its existence. Debendranath Tagore, Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, Iswar Chandra Gupta, Akshay Kumar Dutta etc were somehow involved with the school. Debendranath Tagore granted 8 rupees monthly scholarship to the school upto 1897. His famous son Rabindranath Tagore also continued that grants for next several years. From time to time it got various government grants. Now it's infrastructure also developed in every aspect. It is regarded as one of the most prominent and ideal place for education.
