History

In 1942, when entire India was burning in the flames of patriotism under the Quit India Movement, a school was being born in a village, Kotra,  on the outskirts of Barasat in West Bengal under the earnest initiative of a few education – loving people – Kotra F. P. School. It was a small & humble building laid on the foundation of a huge dream. Kotra, then, was a small hamlet with a sparse population which chiefly consisted of daily wage-earners. But they had anticipated the significance of education for their little children.

The first headmaster, Sri Bholanath Mukherjee, a pro-student man,who was loved & respected by one & all. After that, much time has pased & the small sapling has grown into a huge tree. The student strength is ever increasing. Recently the construction work of the 2nd floor has been granted by the govt. Let the school reverberate with the chirps of the youthful voices of the children, let their eyes be always filled with the dream of a better tomorrow.
