History

Gradually 'Patharghata High School' has come a long way today and has paved a way for the upcoming generations of the Patharghata region.

This educational institution, which is actually a crucial document for the people of this region, started it's journey in 1926 . In the year 1926, under the 'Madhya Bangla Circle' this school was introduced as 'Madhya Bangla'. Later in 1928 this institution got its approval from School board.

After a long tedious journey, this institution was approved as a 'Two Class Junior High School' from 1st January,1955 , of the inspector(Madhyamik)  of the undivided 24 Parganas, Alipur after the relentless, dedicated efforts of some  enthusiastic people of the area.

The journey then begins in a new form. After that, this small institution got the approval of 'Junior High School' by the West Bengal board of Secondary Education in 1978,with the help of the government of West Bengal. After a long period , this institution got its recognition of 9th class in 1st May,1992 and 10th class in 1993 and results  in as a co-educational secondary school.

After that, in 2002 this institution was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School through the efforts of some  well wishers. With the persistent efforts of the enthusiastic people of this area this school continuous to grow and they are still working for the gradual improvement of the school in order to spread the education of the next generation. This is no doubt a healthy and  praiseworthy endeavour for any educational institution.

With the tireless, irresistible efforts of respected teacher Late Shankar Biswas the institution began its journey in an auspicious day and the combined efforts of the teacher , student guardians and by the large people of the area, Rajarhat Panchayat Samiti, Patharghata Gram Panchayat, West Bengal Government and many kind hearted people have made it possible for this institution to have a three-storey building . Happy to say, recently another huge building on the east side of the School has been erected.

This is the firm belief of the school authorities that this institution will get more success with the blessings of the people of this area.
