2nd January, 1959, an opportunity had opened for girls in Barrackpore-I block of North 24 Pgs District of West Bengal, in the name of “Jonepur Girls’ High School”. The school consists of grade from V to X. This is a Government aided Bengali medium secondary school only for girls. This single shifted school from 10.40AM to 4.30PM. This school is well connected by good communicated roads. Here academic session starts from 2nd January every year. The school has own two storied well maintained building. School got Ms Gayatri Sarkar as first head of the institution. Her vision and mission was to enlighten the life of girls by providing education to them which is carry forwarded by next head of the institutions- Ms Ranu Samadder, Ms Tripti Basak, Ms Priti Chowdhury, Ms Nilima Mondal. The happy and strong bonding between teachers and students was the pillar of school’s glorious achievements in past, present and will continue for decades and centuries.
