History of the Institute (KULIAGARH SATISH GHOSH HIGH SCHOOL)

     Kuliagarh Satish Ghosh High School, previously known as Kuliagarh Satish Chandra Ghosh Junior High School started her journey in the year 1965 with the status of a junior high school. It was the 23rd January, 1965 when some respected education enthusiasts from Kuliagarh and surrounding villages took the noble initiative in spreading education in the locality by thinking of establishing a school beginning with class-V and class VI . Later arrangements were taken to teach from class V to Class VIII. The locality got adorned with their long-held aspiration fulfilled, on the 1st January, 1970 when the dream institute was recognized by the Government (No-861/70/g, dated 08/06/1970). After thirty years of smooth functioning, the institute was raised to the status of a Secondary School by the WBBSE (No-S/Recog/2000/1034 dated 16/11/2000) in the year 2000. This co-educational institute uses Bengali as the medium of teaching-learning-process. Beginning with a few number of learners in a room, made of bamboo fences and shedding-tiles, the school building now boasts of being consisted of two huge buildings, unique playground covered with eye-soothing green grass, a spacious building, devoted for Midday Meal purpose and above all innumerable number of learners.

    In the history of this school the names of some noble persons got assimilated and they will be remembered for ever for their noble contribution for the society. The school is named after Late Satish Chandra Ghosh whose two sons Late Gour Mohan Ghosh and Late Kshetra Mohan Ghosh donated this vast land for the purpose.
