History

Halda Banstala Gobardhan Vidyapith was established in 1968. The school is situated in the tribal administered area of Sundarban at Rupamari Halda under Hingalganj Block, North 24 parganas. Some kind hearted poor man of tribal society donated land for our school and started school in a makeshift to enlighten the candle of education among the society, economically and educationally backward people of Halda, Banstala, Kumirmari and Rupamari village. Our school was recognized as 4 class junior high school in 1969 and upgraded as Class X High School in 1992 vide Memo No S/319 dated 28/7/1992 w.e.f 01.05.1992 . At present our school is running in a good building. There is a big playground in front of the school building. There is also an Adivashi  Ashram Hostel attached with our school for schedule tribe male students to develop their life style. We hope it will be Higher Secondary School in future as per demand of entire locality.
