WELLHEAD OF GHEEPUKURIA ADIBASI F.P. SCHOOL

INTRODUCTION/HISTORY OF VILLAGE

It is alleged that near about three hundred years ago, in search of drinking water, few villagers were excavating a pond. During digging they found a metallic pitcher at the 10-12 feet depth. They had opened its’  lid with enthusiasm and became shocked. The pitcher was full of redolent  clarified butter or Ghee.

From that day the pond was named-“Ghee-Pukur” by the villagers and till now the village is called “Ghee-Pukuria” by the local administration also. In this village there is a primary school, approved by District Primary School Council, North 24 Parganas, named- “Ghee Pukuria  Adibasi F.P. School”.

ABOUT GHEE-PUKURIA ADIBASI F.P. SCHOOL

By near-by Teacher-in-Charge sedulous Madhusudan Roy(Vill+PO-Nimichi, Block+PS- Minakhan,North 24 pgs) and fervor of the dwellers, the school was formed on 1^st July,1969 at the hive’s portico of respected Shambhu Sardar, with mud-wall and thatched.

Few years later, to increase the luminescence of future, by the zest and spur of Lt. Khagendranath Sardar (first head master of this school), the two brothers- hon’ble  Shambhu Sardar and Bankshi Sardar registered a gift of deed of 10 Katah land from their own end on behalf of the primary school. After that West Bengal Education Department approved it as a govt. school through vide memo no, 6213-SC/P, dated 22/12/1970.

After 2-3 years of establishment , by the encourage of Gobinda Sardar and other dignities of the village a Hall-Room was built with clinker bricks and tile-roofed. Having a long time in this condition on October, 2005 Hon’ble Vivekananda Patra joined in this school as Head-Master. By his inclination, with the combined effort of Gobinda Sardar, Mahadev Sardar, Nitai Sardar, Nimai Mondal , Ashok Mondal and the financial support of Sarva Siksha Mission (SSM), there built  8nos Classrooms, a kitchen, a dining hall, separate Toilets etc.

Now the school building is more developed , more decorated and trying to achieve upgradation with zeal.
