Mohanpur is a village situated on the bank of river Bidyadhari and it is located in Sundarban Area. There was a man in this village named Bisnupada Haldar who realized the need of a school in this village. So he donated some of his land to build a Pathsala that later on the year 1954 got the Governmental approval as a primary school. The school got the registration as MOHANPUR FREE PRIMARY SCHOOL.

This school was a kachha building before 1998. In this year, school building got renovation and became pucca with concreted roof top.

At present this school has a two stored building including 7 class room and 1 office room.

Before 2019, there were 5 classes in this school from Pre Primary to Class IV, but from the year 2019 Class V is also included in this school. Now there are 6 classes in this school from Pre Primary to Class V.
