History

    About 55 years ago, on an auspicious day of January called ’second January ’ in 1966, Daudpur H.L Sikshaniketan(H.S) was founded, on the bank of the river Bali, at the upper portion of Sundarban, by MR. Fani Bhusan Roy mainly & Mr. Ram Charan Roy, Mr.Sudhir Krishna Roy, the donors of the land, in the memory of their deceased  relative Mr. Hazari Lal Roy  from where ’H.L’ begets later, with the help of Mr. Surendra Nath Roy, an enthusiastic person & the first Secretary of the school, for spreading the education among the people  living mostly in the darkness of poverty, illiteracy and superstation with all hazards of cruel Nature. The permission of teaching the students from class V to X was obtained at a time from the W.B.B.S.Edn, and then it was cocsidered as a great success in this respect. In the class room made of bamboo-fence, mmud-wall and paddy-straws, the first teaching was started with very few students. Whatever, gradually by the help of local people, the teaching & non-teaching staff of this school, former MLA ,Mr. Abani  Ranjan Roy , former Head Master, Mr.Chandra Sekhar Pahari and the Gov. of West Bengal also, now DHLS has become a large school in this locality in its building and also it has gained  warm recognition & fame for spreading its  educational  & cultural richness among the students and people too . A lot of  students of this institution have become  established and renowned for their own activities in life .
