God has made the Sun and man has made the Schools.All are the sources of Light. Without Light creature cannot survive, like without the light of Education man will not be able to be enlightened in heart to reach his goalof divinity and will not be able to change his world for his more betterment.
GABORDA HIGH SCHOOL is the source of Light of Education and Knowledge among the villagers of Gaborda, Bhaduria, Shonpur, Purbajaynagar, Sayastanagar and various areas. The year was 1960. Mother Land India just wins freedom. The indescribable suffering for partition of India was still burning their heart. A lot of cultivating land of villagers has been vested for falling in Purbapakistan. Only poverty, superstition,diseases and death are the irony of fate of the villagers.of border areas. In this time of darkness, some advanced and dignified persons decided to build up a SCHOOL to enlighten the common and financially backward villagers.Sri Tarapada Roy(Karmakar) of Gaborda was the pioneer and path finder of the school foundation(he was also the 1st Secretary of the Adhoc Committee of the school) with his elder brother Sri Niranjan Roy,broad minded Sri Natabar Mondal, Sri Narandranath Roy(Gaborda Hatkhola)Sri Rampada Mondal (first President of first Managing Committee), Sri Nripendranath Mondal(first Secretary),Sri Narayan Chandra Mondal(dedicated first Mason of school building foundation),Sri Adhir Baidy and many other persons whose sacrifice and co-operation made true their dream.
WE remember with regards those heavenly persons who sacrifice more and donated a huge Lands (about five bighas) for building a new school. Sri Kesheb Mondal,Sri Satish Mondal,Sri Dukhiram Mondal, Sri Phanindra Mondal, Smt. Madari Moni Mondal,and others donated the Lands.(Deed has been lost long yeare ago) As per another deed next time more Lands were donated by Sri Natabar Mondal, Sri Fakir Chand Mondal, Sri Bibhuti Bhushan Gain, Sri Akrur Chandra Roy and others (Certified Copy at school).According to Sannyashi Charan Mondal, Firs Gr.D employee of the School,and who has helped to write the History of this school- Janab M.A. Karim Saheb of Sayestanagar donated Rs.500/- for opening the Reserved Fund Account wich was deposited as Double Benefit Scheme at Bank and now 2020 it has increased about Rs 98000/-. We regard his heavenly soul.
THE school First Recognised as three class (VI to VIII) SENIOR BASIC SCHOOL vide D.P.I.WB'S Memo No.- 1210-SC/P/4S-5P/60 Dated : 09.03.1960 wef. 01.01.1960. With about five bighas of land,Staff Quarters,Craft Materials, Tant-Charka,Tailoring facilities, flower and vegetable gardening by the student- in a nutshell activites were going on to fulfill the dream of Mahatma Gandhiji about his Self Help Gram Bharata Scheme. The former D.I of Schools(SE) North 24 Parganas Sri Dulal Chandra Mondal (Purbajaynagar) was a student of this school.Many bright students of this school got govt.service in offices,banks,schools,colleges-even at Writers Buildings.
TIME goes ahed. Changes society.One time Village quarrelling and conflict arose in controlling the management of school.The education aspirant Sri Tarapada Roy and all his families left the village . A group of inefficient and high ambitious persons capture the power of school management.From then history of darkness started.No progress in education,no develomment in infrastructure or upgradation of school.Darkness started. Broken school building with full of Jungle and centre of antisocials.Time goes ahead, education policy of government changes. In 1984 the school converted into four class(V-VIII) GABORDA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL as per Government Order. One time without Headmaster the school became a centre of village politics.
THIS is a turning point of again. Sri Ashok Kumar Mondal elected as Secretary. He wanted to know to TIC, why not permanent HM is coming about eight years ? He was a person interested in education and very energetic and honest person. It was 2003 with a new Assistant Teacher he went to Central School Service Commission at Prince Anwar Sah Road, Kolkatta. Application for Headmaster was submitted now through proper channel. He tried no stone unturned for a permanent Headmaster through School Service Commission. With bless and request of all staff, and Managing Committee Assistant Teacher Ruhul Kuddus(Dattapara) sit for W.B.Central School Service Commission, suceed and hold the post of Headmaster on and from 25.02.2004.
Now the challenge to regain golden days. Everybody want to see the school as High School from Junior High. New Headmaster realised that with this broken building, without toilet, tubewell,office room,staff room, without record and demarkation of land, reserved fund in proper system and with lost and stolen office records- upgradation of school is is very difficult. He determind from first day with M.C and some leaders in any cost we must be upgraded our school as High School. but how? With active help of MC Secretary Bharat Chandra Mondal, President Ruhul Amin Sardar, active leader Sankar Roy, Sukhen Mondal and active help of Bishnupada Mondal (Bishtu Mondal) the school upgraded as X-class High School vide WBBSE Memo No. S/Recog/2009/131 Dated 07.12.2009 w.e.f 01.03.2010. We remember active help of M.L.A Mostafa-Bin Quashim in this regard.
The school has got a grant of Rs.4039000/= from the hand of Hon'ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee in 2015 . Now the school has good quality school building with Staff Room, Office Room, Library with huge books, Laboratory, Computer Lab. Art Room, Projectors, Computer Learning Facility, E- Learning Class Room and good quality Teachers. Upgradation of the school as XII - class Higher Secondary School is our next dream. We are again waiting for golden days.
