BAGDAH HIGH SCHOOL(H.S.) is situated at Bagdah , beside Bongaon- Boyra Road , under jurisdiction of  Bagdah Police Station within Bongaon Sub- Division in North 24 Parganas District. The institution was born on the 13th February,1957, in the hands of some aspirant persons who sincerely felt in their hearts that only education can bring light for the children of their locality. Among them the names of Late Anathnath Roy (Founder Headmaster) , Late Anil Kr Chowdhury, Late Sirajul Hawk, Late Narayan Chandra Mitra, Sri Chaitanyapada Biswas( Ex. Headmaster) and Sri Pabitra Charan Bhattacharya are noteworthy . The school was first recognised as a two class Junior High School w.e.f. 1st April , 1958 , and then as a four class Junior High School w.e.f. 1st April, 1960. Later the institution was upgraded as a ten class High  School by the  West Bengal Board of Secondary Education w.e.f. 1st January, 1964 and was further upgraded as a twelve class Higher Secondary School by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education w.e.f. 1st July, 1986. From the very beginning the school played a very important role for spreading education in the locality which was utmost backward in socio- economic stature. During last seventy three years the institution had to face a lot of conflicts and obstacles in its way of progress. But it never gave up its vows and works . Through ups and downs of past days this institution has achieved now a graceful position as a respectful centre for education and culture in its locality as well as in the sub-division. More of less 2500 students take lessons in every academic session in this institution . Besides prescribed curriculum the students have ample scope for games and sports and various cultural activities in the institution. School library can quench their thirst for knowledge and curiosity . Scientific laboratories provide them joy and enthusiasm for practical experience. Cordial relationship among the teaching and non-teaching staff is a great strength of this institution whereas respectful and affectionate bonding between staff members and students is the most precious wealth of this institution.
