
Dighari Bhasan Chandra High School began its journey with a few number of students on 19th January, 1962. Some interested person in education took initiative to launch this Institution specially for the children of migrant people who came from East Pakistan to India after partition. Late Bhasan Chandra Mondal donated One acre land for construction of school building. The institution got its 1st recognition as 2 class Jr. High School with Co-education in the year 1962 and 4 class Jr. High School with Co-education in the year 1964. In the year 1992 the school was upgraded to High School and got recognition for imparting H.S. course in 2010. A Vocational training centre has been running in this institution approved by WBCVE & T w.e.f. January, 2010. A multigym funded by youth department, Govt. of West Bengal has been inaugurated in the year 2018. School provides free computer training for the students of Classes V to X with the help of IL & FS ICT company funded by RMSA.
The School celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2012with grandeur. To commemorate the Golden Jubilee, one rroom named “ Subarna Jayanti Kaksha” has been constructed by the ex-students, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of the Institution.
Students pay their respect to their teachers and also teachers have a positive and patient attitude to their students.
