
It was 1945. The nationwide struggle for independence was on its pinnacle. The entire country was striving for freedom not only from the British but also from poverty, illiteracy and social exploitations and Palla was no exception. All these common aspirations were the guiding force that germinated a need in the heart of the people here to have a seat of learning. The luminaries of this ancient, prosperous hamlet under the potent leadership of Sri Kalipada Chakraborty established this school and the journey of Palla High School commenced. Later in 2002 the school was renamed as Palla Kalipada Chakraborty Higher Secondary school.
