History

Chandigarh R. P. school was established in 1957 at Chandigarh village beside the Jamuna river. This school is located at Gaighata Circle, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. At the time of establishment, the school had only one room. The land was donated by Akhil Bandhu Sarkar, Bipin Sarkar and Upendra Sarkar. The total area of the school is 0.33 Satak or one bigha, Plot Number - 1223, Mouza - Chandigarh. The first teachers were Nishi Kanta Devnath, Nani Gopal Devnath and Akhil Das. At the time of establishment, there was only one classroom. Now there are two classrooms and the school authority continuously tries for further development of the infrastructure.
