HISTORY OF RAMCHANDRAPUR PALLIMANGAL VIDYAPITH (H.S)

Ramchandrapur Pallimangal Vidyapith (H.S)was established on the 4th January 1956.It was the time after Independence &separation when the Government of India was planning to rehabilitate the refugees. On this purpose the then landlord Rajendralal Banerjee donated his 1200 bigha land. Besides the Government also donated land to form a permanent colony there. Along with Bazaar and 0 the necessity of an academic institution was also felt by the wellwishers. Bipad Bhanjan Biswas, Tarak Chandra Ghatak, Rashiklal Biswas,& many other respected persons of this area dedicated themselves to establish this institution. Rajendralal Banerjee donated one acre land to establish this school. 

                                                       Bipad Bhanjan Biswas conducted an open meeting on 25th December 1955. Tarak Chandra Ghatak presided over that day's fruitful meeting. Ajay Bose of Bongaon, Gour Chandra Gain of Manikhira, Narendra nath Mondal of Ramchandrapur & others donated Rs385/=accumulatively. Chitta prasanna Bandopadhayay & Krishna lal Ganguly were elected the President & the Secretary of the newly formed Managing Committee .

                                        Gradually construction procedure was being initiated. Md Potu Mondal, Balaichand Mondal & many other people joyfully helped in this blissful venture. Primarily the structure of the school building was made with fencing of jute sticks & tin. Sariklal Biswas's dedication in designing the jute stick fencing is memorable. Thereafter a few chairs & benches were bought and the rest were donated by kindhearted residents. Famous social worker Bhabani Shankar Gain inaugurated this school on 4th January 1956.To get the affiliation from the Government more & more students were required to be admitted. So lodging for students was started in the surrounding areas of the school. Bipad Bhanjan Biswas himself used to monitor this procedure. 

                         As this area was academically not so developed, possibility of getting teachers was not easy. At last Bipad Bhanjan Biswas beseeched Mukundal  Sarkar so that his son Charu Mihir Sarkar, a Government employee joins this institution as it's founder Headmaster. After that Charu Mihir Sarkar dedicated his life in the welfare of this school which got a shape in his own hand. Besides Bithika Rani Sarkar, Bipin Behari Mondal & Triguneshwar Dhali joined as assistant teacher's. 

                                  Rabindranath Mondal & Bipad Bhanjan Biswas arranged money for reserve fund. After inspection the Government gave affiliation as a VIII Class junior school. Later grade IX & X were started in 1957 & 1958 respectively. Chandranath Basu helped a lot in getting permission for grade X from the West Bengal Government. In 1960 Shubhendu Bikash Sarkar along with Shripati Biswas appeared for school final examination on behalf of this school and successfully cleared the Board Examination. Purnendu Shekhar Naskar, Minister of West Bengal Government granted Rs25000/= which was utilised in renovation of the school by constructing brick structure. In 1961 Humaun Kabir, the then Cultural Minister of the Central Government came here & granted Rs8000/= for development of this school. Thereafter Humanities and Commerce streams were started in 1962 following the Science stream in 1964. Again Rs40000/= & Rs50000/= were granted by the Government. Amala Soren, the Deputy Minister of Education Department came here & laid the foundation stone of the two storied building. Lutherian Wodld service & M.P Chitta Basu also donated in the development of this school also. 

                                Later the Government of West Bengal introduced new curriculum i.e 10+2. Gradually students hostel, modern laboratories, vast garden & huge playground added an entrancing beauty to this institution. Shades of tin were removed & moulded roof was constructed. In the 1990's electricity connection was made to the school & during 2004-2015 several developments occurred as construction of a new building by the grace of West Bengal Sarva Siksha Mission. Since 1956 this pioneering institution is serving a great role in academic & culture  to create a better society, a better tomorrow.
