History

Sri Krishna Siksha Niketan is a famous primary school in South Habra. It was built to provide proper education to the children below the poverty line of the nearly location. With the help of "Pally Mangal Samitte" it was established on 5th January, 1962. A registered land around 7200 sq ft was given by Pally Mangal Samitte for the purpose of the school. There was nothing but a peepal tree. Respected educationist Mr. Subodh Chandra Dutta started providing education at free of cost at that place. After 1 year a small temporary room was built with the financial help of villagers. Then the process was shifted there. After 5 years of continuous efforts the school got the govt. affiliation on 6 the March,1967. Smt. Maya Dutta and Smt. Shefali Roy (Saha) got govt. offer letters as teaching staffs. In last few years they were providing education without any salary. In 1999 M.P. Sri Ranjit Panja  granted Rs 2 lakhs for the purpose of the school building. The 1st school building was built with the help of this fund. In 2000 " Sarbasiksha Mission" scheme was started and 1 lakh 25 thousand was granted for school. The fund for the second room was granted in 2008. Besides this in 1982 many saplings we're planted in govt. tree plantation programme in the premises of the school.  Thus slowly the school has evolved and reached at this stage.
