History

Unnayan Parishad No.1 G.S.F.P school is on Shashibala Sarani at Ashoknagar within ward no.10 of Ashoknagar-Kalyangarh Municipality. The school building was set up on 27th january,1953. The school was housed in a part of a hospital meant for the British soldiers during the British rule. After independence, Ashoknagar and its adjacent areas became thickly populated by the migrated people from formerly East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then Chief Minister of Bengal effected this area through innumerable development schemes for the benefit of those migrated people. The school is a part of that development works of Dr. Roy. Now the school building has another new building attached to the old one. The school building is blessed with open field all around, sufficient sunlight and air.
