                                                                   HISTORY OF KHANTURA PRIMARY SCHOOL                                                                                                                            HABRA-1 CIRCLE , NORTH 24 PARGANAS, PO-GOBARDANGA

                                                               Khantura Primary School is one of the oldest Educational Institutions in Gobardanga region. The school was started in 1872 by Biharilal Sarkar Mahasaya,the oldest educationist and social worker of Gobardanga ,according to various ancient sources. Formerly Khantura Primary School was known as Bihari Gurumahasayas Pathshala. Subsequently,the progress of the school in the order of the year became significant.

                           Gurumahashaya Biharilal Sarkar started this school in 1872.Gurumahashaya Balaram Biswas took charge of the school in 1937. In 1950 Kashiswar Biswas was appointed as next Headmaster. After 19 years later in 1969 Sri Abhimanyu Roy was appointed as next Headmaster . Sri Ratan Chandra Roy was appointed as an Assistant Teacher in 1972. Sri Mrityunjay Biswas was appointed at the role of Headmaster in 1976. Sri Bikramjit Chowdhury and Sri Satyaranjan  Mukherjee was joined as an Assistant Teacher in 1981 . In 1997 Arun Kumar Mukhapadhya  was appointed at the same roll. In 2004 the school s new building was erected. Sri  Santosh Kumar Das took the charge of the school as a Head Teacher in 2005. After that in 2007  Smt.  Protima Khan Sarkar was joined as an additional para Teacher and in the year 2010 Sri Ghundu Oroan ,Md. Abdul Monif was appointed as an Assistant Teacher in this Instituation.

                 Many  students have completed their primary education from the school and got their Higher Education in later life and have become well established in life. Notable among them was Late Dr. PHANI BHUSAN BHATTACHARIYA  Former Chairman of Gobardanga Municipality. Also Late Benimadhab Adhikari,Hriday Manik Ash,  Kanai Lal Roy, Surendra Nath Nandi, Ramprosad Dey and Sri Nitai Mondal.
