History

Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan, established in the heart of the cultural heritage city of Naihati has long been the centre of education and culture to the people of this area. This educational institute was established in 1933. Among the people whose co-operation and financial help had made the establishment of this institution possible are, Dr. Roy's family, Mr. Dutta's Family, Mr. Sailen Dutta (ex-Secretary), Mr. Suren Dutta (ex-Secretary) and Mr. Amal Kr. Dutta (Former Headmaster of the Institution) are worth mentioning. Then Mr. Ardhendu Mohan Bhattacharya took the responsibility of this institution as the Headmaster of the institution and marched along the milestones of development. The people of Naihati still remember his love for his students and his devotion towards the development of this institution.

 Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan is a Govt.Sponsored Higher Secondary School which stands on Government Aid, Grant and co-operation,and also aided by Sarva Siksha Mission, Samagra Siksha Abhiyan and  help of the local people. In the recent past, many studious and intelligent students have passed from this institution and established themselves successfully in different spheres of life. Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan stands as one of the best schools in the Barrackpore Educational District as well as North 24 Pgs. In 1986 Mr. Sabyasachi Banerjee , a student of this institution stood first in the Madhyamik Examination in all West Bengal from this institution. In 2020 Soumyojit Das of Class X stands 11th in Madhyamik Pariksha 2020. Our school was recognised as a Higher Secondary institution from 1962. Science, arts and commerce - all three streams are taught at the higher secondary level here. Well equipped laboratories and a rich library stand in support of our educational system. The school has different rooms for science section accompanied by well-equipped and up-graded laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography, Nutrition, Statistics. Moreover, the N.C.C and N.S.S stand as the pride of our school.  Digital classes are also provided to each class of both medium with the help of K-YAN and other equipments of our school. We have two air conditioned Computer Lab for our students.

Along with the academic development the school is always aware of providing adequate scope for playing a wide range of games thus contributing greatly to the growth of the might and muscles of the student. Our students regularly participate in inter-school and inter-district cricket and football. Our students have also acquired the first position in national level Table Tennis. We have International Table Tennis player in our school. We have Girls Cricket Team also. School provides free Karate Classes for all Girls students. We have installed Multi-Gym in our institution with the help of Youth Department of Govt of West Bengal. In cultural sector also our students perform with highest excellence. We arrange various awareness camps, counselling session, carrier counselling session for students. Our school organises EDUCATIONAL TOUR to BITM, SCIENCE CITY, Historical places, Heritage buildings, forests, etc.

Our institution is dutifully marching ahead with the vow to spread education among all sections of the society. To help the poor and intelligent students, our institution offers scholarships and free books. In this task, we are constantly being helped by the people of Naihati, interested in education. Hon'ble MLA Mr. Partha Bhowmik has also obliged us by presenting a soundless generator for the institution from his MLA fund. We are very much thankful and are highly obliged to him for his co-operation. Indian Oil Corporation has also helped us in different ways. For this too we express our heartfelt thanks to them.  We have achieved another glory for our school as we have started our English Medium Section in 2016 from Class V to Class XII for the benefit of the society in general. This is one of the best Govt. Sponsored School in North 24Parganas where both Bengali and English Medium are running side by side successfully with a huge number of students in both medium.

Our institution not only provides quality education but also extends its cooperation to society in many ways. Regularly we organise BLOOD DONATION CAMP with the help of GOVT. BLOOD BANK, TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME, DENGUE PREVENTION PROGRAMME. Teaching and non-teaching staffs, Managing Committee Members and a few well wishers of our beloved school have come forward to help COVID-19 and lock down affected people of our state by donating Rs. 1,15,000/- (ONE LAKH FIFTEEN THOUSAND ONLY) to CHIEF MINISTER'S EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND on 30th March, 2020. We provide scholarships to our poor and meritorious students who get 90% and above marks in Final Result from Class VI to XII. Our Alumni Association "NNV PRAKTONIKA" also helps our students in different way. Our teachers are regularly taking ONLINE CLASSES from class V TO XII in both medium in the pandemic situation of COVID-19. One of our teachers, Dr. Subhankar Saha received prestigious NATIONAL TEACHER AWARD from GOVT. OF INDIA and SIKSHA RATNA AWARD from GOVT. OF WEST BENGAL.
