History

Bhatpara Model Girls’ High School was set up with a mission to educate mostly poor and needy girls of society. In early 70’s(1962) there was not a single school for poor, first learners to enlighten themselves. So to fulfill their urge for learning and to eradicate illiteracy Bhatpara Model Girls’ High School was setup in 1962.The school started first as class II in the morning session with three teachers without remuneration at the premises of Bhatpara High School including Headmistress Late Smt Bulu Bhattacharyya. Meanwhile it was upgraded as class IV in 1965.Then it became High School in 1968 with six teachers including Headmistress. Late Sri Bholanath Moulick, a founder member was the former secretary who became its president till his death. Another founder member, Late Sri Sudhansu Ranjan Bhaduri later became secretary till his death and the former secretary was Late Sri Panchanan Ghosh.The present Headmistress is Smt Debasree Mukherjee. She takes active role for the all round development of this school.
