History

 From British period, Kankinara was a Jute Mill area. There was poor  educational opportunities for womenfolk on those days. So, local sensible educationists came forward for spreading education among women. In 1955, this institution was established with the powerful supports of the wise people of this area. Rajlakshmi school owes to the support of grandfather and grand mother Mr. Partha Ghosh, the resident of the adjacent area.  His grand mother was Rajlakshmi Devi , namesake of the institution . Rajlakshmi  was very common name for women then. It may be mentioned here that Rajlakshmi Devi also was the name of Rishi  Bankim chandra Chatterjee's wife . We know from the historical fact that Rishi Bankim Chandra came to his in -law's house by driving horse in Panpur which is very close to this school. Kanthalpara, Naihati, the birthplace of Sahityo Samrat, is just two and half km away from this institution. 

Bhatpara is a very old place near the holy river Ganges from time immemorial . It has the glorius histories of  Bhatpara Pandits and Toles which were world famous and also was connected with Nabadwip, the place of Chaitanya Dev .Bankim Chandra Chatterjee took his lessons from the great  Sanskrit pandits of Bhatpara.
