Some decades ago the Telugu people mostly emigrated from Andhra Pradesh and Orissa to West Bengal, Titagarh, for the livelihood. First of all they thought for bread, cloth and shelter. Thereafter they further thought for education, which will give knowledge to their children, helps to know good or bad in the society and also shows way to their livelihood.
with these good thoughts, some eminent persons namely Sri Nimmana Neelakantam Bhagavatar, Sri Jami Kalidas, Sri Eddimi Appanna Babu, Sri Thota Viswanatham, Sri Nalla Lakshmi Narayana Sri Sappati Gurayya, Sri Battula Mallesham, Sri Uppu Nandesham and so many others have tied the knot to their waist and readied to knock door to door for collecting money from Telugu people lived in every corner of the country.
They have given utmost effort, valuable time and financial support to build the school.
Finally, the school was built with the collected money on the land donated by Titagarh Andhra Sangham, one of the popular Sanghams in our locality.
In the year 1963,the school started with 5th and 6th classes by the Local Intellectuals. After the years, Primary section had also started in the morning. After that they tried hard with higher authorities for Government recognition to the school.
By this fruitful effort, the school was developed step by step i.e., in the year 1974 School run 7 and 8 classes and in the year 1978 School run 9 and10 classes. Finally in the year 2010, The West Bengal Government has given approval to run Higher Secondary classes.
Thus, now the three storied building, Titagarh Andhra Vidyalayam H.S School, a virtual reality of the dreams of our fore fathers and Telugu Community of Titagarh and people from nearby surrounding areas came true.
In our school, sports activities, exhibition, quizzes and essay competitions have been conducting every year with the aim of giving better quality of education.
