History
Pulin Bihari Vidyapith was first setup in the year of 1930. Motial Ahmed, a distinguished
lawyer residing in Titagarh, West Bengal started imparting lessons to only 10 newly admitted
boys and girls, and in his academic pursuit another academic minded person of this locality,
whose name was Shanti Bhattacharjee, came forward. At that time the school was renamed
Muslimpara-Goalapara U.P. School. Later when the number of educates increased the school
building was shifted to its present location. A kind and very affectionate person to children
whose name was Pulin Bihari Adhikary, in his initiative donated his own land for the setup of
the school building in a mud house cottage temporarily. Thereafter he donated his own 6370
square feet of land for the school to be set up. And the school was finally christened by his
name Pulin Bihari Vidyapith. On 1st january1932 the school got its first Govt. Recognition. At
the latter stage in the year of 1960 after filling up a pond, the construction of the school
building was first done. Now the school is well established.
As the day progresses, on the latter stage after getting assistance and fund from the Govt. the
school building was expanded. After 2004 by the help of ‘Sarva Siksha Mission’ through its
different projects the construction of classrooms, boundary wall of the school premises and
the separate toilets for both boys and girls were made up. Local administration also did
adequate arrangement of the drinking water at the school premises. One NGO named ‘CLPO’
took initiative for safe drinking water for the children.
In the year of 2012 Head Teacher’s room was set up. In 2016, under ‘Make In India’ , a central
Govt. project, the number of toilets for both boys and girls were increased. In 2018 by the
assistance of ‘Capital Grant’ and by the help of Governor’s special grant, one additional
classroom was set up. At present the school has owned two building blocks. In this process by
the active help of the different Govt. projects, local administration and Ward Education
Committee’s former president Shri Amal Das and the stand in president Nousad Alam, the
school infrastructure is now gradually improving.
Owing to the upliftment of the school academic activities and for a safe, caring & healthy
learning environment, the number of students of the school has increased to a large extent.
Moreover, the role of the teachers is also important for the improvement of the academic
standard in the school and the students are now actively participating in the extra curricular
activities which is the outcome of overall improvement of the school.
As a consequence, the glory of the school is now an on going process and we hope in future
this school will become a model school in this locality.
