History

Barrackpore Govt. High School was established in the year of 1837 by Lady Emile Eden, who

was also the first Headmistress of this school. She was the only sister of Lord Auckland. Till the

year 1911 all the Governor Generals provided economical support to this school.Now the school

is controlled by the Commissionerate of School Education.
