History

Ours is a school situated within Mangal Pandey Udyan(Latbagan) police complex. Though established in the year 1960 (26^thJuly) as a two class (V&VI) junior high school, but the history of the first twelve years of the school is wrapped in a shroud of darkness. However, the school got back its life force with the approval of WBBSE in 1972. Three approved teachers – Smt Uma Roy, Smt Eva Nandi & Sri Biplab Kumar Sengupta joined the school and in course of time Sri Sengupta became the Headmaster of the school. During this period police and public strongly stood beside the school.

One significant thing happed in 1978. Mr. Jyoti Basu, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal visited the school along with IGP, WB Mr. Sunil Chowdhury. Because of the positive gesture of the Hon’ble CM the school became a four class Junior High School in 1979 and later on upgraded to a ten class High School in 1983. The School was further upgraded to a H.S. School in 1999-2000 session. At Present Science, Arts and commerce stream are running in the H.S. Section.
