History

        Call any resident of khardah about its rich treasure. One will certainly utter the name of the khardah Ramkrishna Missionand the Shyamsundor Temple.In the same will emerge the name of Khardaha Priyanath Balika Vidyalaya(primary). An age¬-old institution having celebrated its Platinum jubilee, tip being towards century on century is a great milestone indeed. We are proud and fortunate to witness the landmark which bears the heritage of the town Khardah-coined its  name with a rich culture.

We are proud and fortunate to witness the landmark which bears the heritage of the town Khardah-coined its  name with a rich culture.Needless to say that 50 years ago woman education had not spread so much,yet the role of this institution in spreading woman education can not be denied.thi school was born with a vow to uplift the weaken folk and to limelight.The flagbearer Priyanath Bandyopadhyay had left unfastened to set up the school having obtained a piece of land.The school had been named after him.Though he is no more among us his dream and perseverance are always a constant source of inspiration to our endeavour to restore the glory.

        In 1939, 28th January the school was inaugurated by Mrs. M.D Gupta, the then head of the Day Section of the school. She paid rich tribute to Priyanath babu saying "The little diya that Priyanath babu lit up will one day create an conflagration among the women to home into the fold of education and enligthen themselves". We have no hasitation to say that many students of this school have successfully established thnemselves in different ways of life and performing service to society.

        Priyanathbabu was the first President and also the secretary of the school. Mrs.Sudha Sengupta was the first Headmistress for twenty-three years.She retired in 1981. at first the school was born with a handful of students. Mrs. Deb toiled really hard and her restless effort could form this institition to such a great heigth which we can be proud of. The Headmistress who followed her added more stepping stones to its glory.

        It is no denying the fact that we could never have been  here without the co-operation and patronage of the villager of Khardah, the managing committee, its members, Headmasters  and Headmistresses. They nevergave up their mission to give tbhis school  a great shape . we feel  proud to say that  in the 2021 academic session of the school will be upgraded to class v. This has been possible with the able support, co-operation and relentless hard work of the residents of the town , Khardah, the present teachers, staffs and above all the past and present students.
