Bandipur Ideal Academy is the culmination of an audacious project of spreading the light of education among the indigenous populace of the Bandipur colony in the tumultuous times of 1950s. The perseverance, hardwork and selfless dedication of a few noble souls resulted in the school's foundation on 2nd January, 1962. Initially a co-educational institution, the girls' section was later separated in 1972 as Bandipur Ideal Academy for Girls. Upgradation to secondary section was completed in 1966 and higher secondary section became operational from 2000-01. It never was and will never be an elite space for the privileged class of the society. This institution, since its humble beginning in a thatched hut, emerged as a refuge to huge amount of underprivileged learners ranging from the rootless migrants of the erstwhile East Bengal, economically marginalised classes as well as students from religious minority groups living in the vicinity of the then Bandipur village. And all these tribulations have made education all the more important for our students. The very name breathes the aspiration for reaching an optimum level of education that impacts the learners as well as the teachers. Enriched with a dynamic past, Bandipur Ideal Academy prepares to embark on newer peregrination.
