History

Founded in 1950 on the auspicious day of 12 th January, this Institution,Agarpara Mahajati Vidyapith (HS) has been the flag bearer of education not only in Agarpara -Panihati belt but also in the entire Barrackpore sub-division as well as in the district of North 24 Parganas.Hats off ro those displaced population of Agarpara Mahajati Nagar from erstwhile Pakistan(Now in Bangladesh) in the aftermath of india's independence who have made the dream comes true.It had never been a smooth sailing in the dawn of freedom,because the crying need of those noble hearts were food shelter and meagre earning.

Still those peoples rendered refugees set out on generous initiative to set up an institution in order to light up the torch of education.What was  once a humble beginning in 1950 has over the decades flourished by leaps and bounds with vibrant hues of triumphs.Presently attributed as Govt. Sponsored Higher Secondary  School,Agarpara Mahajati Vidyapith (HS) offers high standard of education to the students at the Madhyamik level as well as in the three Streams(Science,Commerce and Arts) of Higher Secondary level. It is the ideal seat of learning to many outstanding pupils who over the years outshined in various domains spread all over the world.But we believe merit is not ingrained only in those outstanding students.It can be sharpened with proper love and care. That’s why many ordinay and mediocre students from this institution have enlightened themselves in the greater canvas of education and set their feet  firmly in every nook and corner of the nation ,not to speak of foreign countries.

But this glorious institution of ours suffers badly from scarcity of space required for spreading the wings of multipurpose education.

Last but not the least, we fervently appeal to the broad minded people of the localities as well as to the people in general to come forward with zeal and benevolence so that we can upgrade our school as one of the pioneer intitutions in the map of west Bengal in the days ahead.
