History

Deshbandhunagar Vidyamandir for Girls HS located at Pansila Government Colony in ward no. 19 under Panihati Municipality. It started its journey on 2nd January 1963 to fulfill the demand of the local people who had come from the erstwhile east Pakistan.It was recognised for the first three years as a Junior High School and as High School from 1966. It is now a Government Sponsored Higher Secondary School since 2002. 

Students mostly come from economically challenged background and some are first generation learners. They do fairly good in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations and their participation in cultural and sports activities are praise worthy.

Coping with the modern trend the school has introduced technology oriented methods of instructions. Emphasis is laid upon discipline and character building . Teacher student relationship is much cordial here. The school is housed in two buildings with a nice auditorium , a well equipped library with a full time librarian, a computer room , science and geography laboratories.

The school has drinking water facilities, continuous water supply and good condition toilet.

Over the years the school has developed into a institution of repute.
