This Institute was established in 1963 in an eight shed house next to a small mounded reservoir in the GHOLA ‘C’ BLOCK of Sodepur in Panihati Municipality to spread the light of Education among the children of the uprooted stream, coming from East Bengal.
At first the members of Nabodoy Sangha brought the people deprived of education in the area to might schools. Though their tireless efforts, this might school gradually became a full-fledged school (Day) at the primary, lower secondary and secondary level. The primary division lasted for sometime under the proper supervision of the Late Shri Nkhil Ranjan Bakshi and with the good wishes of the residents of the area. The inspiration and overall co-operation of the members of Nabadoy Sangha from the birth of the school has smoothed the journey of the school. Thus the gradual transmission from seed to tree occurred. Today this three storey school is illuminating the ray of knowledge and wisdom. The efforts and tireless efforts of the members of Nabodoy Sangha in the construction of houses demand special recognition.
The contribution of Sri Nikhil Ranjan Bakshi, one of the founders and former headmaster of the school from primary level to Class XII, is undeniable.
It is currently a high school with a science and arts department. If all educated people of the area cooperate for the overall improvement of the school, then the institute will one day play a role of enlightment in the expansion of education
