
In the year 1972 the local people who were social activists intended to establish a school in the ward No- 7 of Kamarhati Municipality and hold a meeting of the persons interested in the education under the convenor ship of Mr. Md. Hadis on 01-01-1972
It was unanimously resolved that a Committee be formed under the Secretary ship of Md. Hadis,the founder, for this noble deed and it was named Kamarhati Bastee Development and Social Welfare Organisation.
The members present unanimously reached the decision that 6 Cottah 01 Chhatak 35 Sq.ft. of land be purchased with a view to establish a primary school was founded on 02-01-1972 on 3 Cottah 13 Chhatak 15 Sq.ft. and a Junior High School on the rest of the land as the total area was a slum area and it was necessary to establish the schools for catering to the needs of children belonging to below poverty line in different rented rooms.
However the land was purchased in the year 1981 and and duly registered in 1982 on 24-11-1982 in the name of Social Welfare Primary School the registration was done and for the recognition of the school 3 Cottah 13 Chhatak 15 Sq.ft. land was registered in the name of the District Inspector of Schools 24 Parganas West Bengal in the year 1984. The school was recognised w.e.f. 01.01.1984. The school was declared as a Minority Educational Institution vide memo no.106 of 2008 / 29642 dated 11-08-2008 by National Commission For Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India.
Since its inception the four qualified teachers were appointed for the smooth functioning of the school under the Secretary ship of Mr. Md. Hadis and Mr. Md.Ali became its first Head Teacher who successfully accomplished his duties with the helps of his assistant teachers until he retired on 31.10.2013
After his superannuation Mr. Mohd. Shamim acted as the Teacher-In-Charge w.e.f. 01.11.2013 and he was duly approved by the District Primary School Council North 24 Parganas as Head Teacher with effect from 13.06.2014
At present the school is successfully running in the Junior section of the school, Sir Syed Urdu M.S.K. annexed with the Primary school as the previous construction was totally dilapidated and Honourable Chairman District Primary School Council after inspections of his officers and District engineers ordered for its demolition on 16.03.2015 as per Memo No. 328/1(2) Engg. Dated 16.03.2015
However the District Project Officer, Sarva Shiksha Mission, North 24 Parganas, the Chairman, District Primary School Council, North 24 Parganas and the whole education department have completed the necessary inspections and a budget of Rs 1,28,34,800/- has been sent on 30-12-2019 to the Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Bikash Bhawan, Govt. Of West Bengal through the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas for approval and the school’s proper and own building is going to be built in coming months.
The school is provided all the facilities for the students such as Free Text Books, Uniforms, Shoes and Mid Day Meal etc as are provided to the Government approved schools.
The quality education is the first and foremost priority of the school for which the teachers try to their level best and the school is known as one of the best schools in the Kamarhati Circle.
