Asthe institution is situated at the junction of two municipality the communication facility is good. Locality of our school is poor in economical condition but rich in different culture.
In 1947 at the time of partition of India and Pakistan many people of East Pakistan (which is now known as Bangladesh) who were engaged in different occupation was compelled to come to India and some of them set a Colony of Refugees at Belgharia, as many of them were engaged in 'Bengal Chemical' which was established by Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy so the area that is the refugee Colony was named as 'PRAFULLANAGAR'. After setting there some of philanthropists who were interested in educationthought for establishing a school or the children of the locality which started functioning in the year 1951 as a Co-Education School named as 'Prafullanagar Acharya Prafulla Chandra Vidyapith' after that in 2nd January 1956 the separate Girls' section was established nearby named as 'Prafullanagar Acharya Prafulla Chandra Vidyapith For Girls'. The West Bengal Board Of Secondary Education (W.B.B.S.E.) time to time affiliated that school at first as Class II, then upgraded as Class IV and at last in the year 1st January,1966 upgraded that school as a Class X Standard School. At That time the Class X students were allowed for SCHOOL FINAL Examination but from 1976 this institution was known as a MADHYAMIK SCHOOL (Secondary School). At present from 30th September, 2013 our school known as a Govt. Sponsored School instead of Govt. Aided one.
Late Manika Guha Thakurata was the first permanent Headmistress of this school. She tried her best to improve this school in different ways. Her two daughters who were ex-students of this school are now well established in their life even now they are attached with this school by prizing to encourage the students in education and also in different sphere of life. From the very begining to till now our Assistant Teacher also engaged themselves to encourage and help the students for their allround developement.
After the retirement of Late Manika Guha Thakurata i.e. from March 1993 to 21st November 2001 near about eight years Late Sima Chakraborty then Smt. Anju Roy and lastly Smt. Bhabani Sarkar took the charges as a Teacher-In-Charge and on 22nd November, 2001 Smt. Madhuchhanda Chakrabarti joined as apermanent Headmistress. She and her all colleagues (Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff) were trying to serve the school at their best.
The school is trying to establish it as a good one. Time to time by different notification and help of W.B.B.S.E. and also the Sarva Siksha Mission the school tried to develop its Buildings, Library, Mid-Day-Meal Kitchen Room, Toilets of Students and Teachers both and also Teaching-Learning accesories.
For proper nutrition of our students we regularly continue the Mid-Day_meal programme. We have a permanent Library room, the students uses that room as a free reading room also.
Now we are feeling proud because some of our ex-students now establish them as a good teacher of different schools. Some of our ex-students took the education in Technical Ground and they also established them in that sphere.
